Collage Work-Putting Designs into a Repeat (Examples from Sketchbook)
Use of Drawn and Printed Imagery

Series of Experimentation-Layout, Composition, Scale, and Tone. Compare and Contrast Shape, Form and Line through the Use of Imagery Placement

Introduction of colour with line drawings to help understand the repeat procedure and design process

Use of repeating themes through drawn and printed imagery of the stone rose

Increased complexity in repeat with multiple mixed imagery

Use of tone, shape and form through repeat

Increased focus on line with reduced variation

Increased experimentation with background and foreground using repeats within a repeat

Further play with imagery placement, composition and line

Use of linocut printed background from the surface design of the crystal geode. Foreground included individual drawn imagery of the stone rose, crystal geode and fossils

Above illustrated design put into repeat to aid the continuing design process and repeats

Further experimentation with background and foreground contrasts, to explore the repeat process and the use of scale from the surface design of the crystal geode and the stone rose

Continuing experimentation of contrasts in scale

As above with altered background use from the crystal geode

As above with different amplified imagery from the crystal geode

Experimentation with blocks of black, torn edge, background and foreground imagery
